After crossing Pecca Bridge you reach the first of Pecca Falls. Here the vegetation changes from typical limestone to bracken and heather which are associated with slate and sandstone and more acidic soil.
There are five main waterfalls at this point, dropping 30 metres over sandstone and slate. The river tumbles over the sandstone steps into the plunge pools which may be as deep as the falls themselves.
